Adding a New Discount Matrix

To add a discount matrix to the Discount Matrix master file:

Open the Discount File Update screen.

Refer to "Opening the Discount Matrix Master File".

Select FILE | NEW.

Micronet displays the Discount File Update screen in Add Mode.

Complete the following fields:

	Field	Value
	Discount Matrix	Enter a unique ID up to four characters for this discount matrix.
	Description	Enter a description for the discount matrix.

Double click on a row for a discount category 1-299, or select a row and press Enter.

Micronet displays the Category Percentages screen.

Complete the following fields:

	Field	Value
	Category	Micronet displays the row number in the discount category table that you want to update. This is the Discount Category Number you assign to a product category in the Product Category master file.
	Amount	Enter the amount of the discount (percentage or net according to what you select in the next field).
	How	Select the way Micronet should apply the discount. Options are: Percentage – a % discount off the selling price per item of the product. The percentage discount given is applied before the quantity calculation is done. Dollar – a net dollar amount off the list price 1-8 of the product, e.g. 2.00 = $2.00 discount. Cents – a net cents amount off the list price 1-8 of the product, e.g. 0.3 = $0.003 discount off the list price and could be used for discounts of fractions of a cent as would be the case for fuel discounts. Per Packet Price – if sales are being made in alternate quantities of packets/cartons (or inner/outer, cartons/pallets, etc.), then this discount percentage would only apply to sales made of packets. % Of Order – this method differs from Percentage shown above in that the discount is applied after the item x quantity calculation is done and can reduce rounding, particularly with differing rates of sales tax.
	Price Break	Select the list price 1-8 to have the discount applied to.

Select the Accept button.

Micronet redisplays the Discount File Update screen.

Repeat the steps above to add other discount categories.

Select FILE | SAVE.
